I currently offer Online Private Lessons for students (5th grade-12th grade) interested in learning the entire pipeline of 3D animated film making or a single process. I teach beginner level students with little to no experience. Lessons are conducted via Zoom Video Conferencing. Files are shared via Google Drive.

Lesson days, times, and frequency are flexible during summer months (June – mid August).

Students have the option to learn the entire 3D filmmaking process (or select an area of specialization*) from the following list:

 Learning Concepts:
  • Understand the fundamental processes involved in the creation of 3D animation.
  • Gain insight into the differences among various 2D/3D software tools.
  • Develop an understanding of the diverse methods available for achieving similar results and the decision making processes involved at various stages of project development.
  • Understand the opportunities and career tracks available within the field of 3D animation.
  • Learn how to document and present 2D/3D art & animation on the internet.
  • Learn how to become successful in the animation industry through Practicing, Researching, and Networking.

The software used in this course will need to be downloaded onto a personal computer or laptop for homework and additional learning purposes.

Additional Homework:
Homework is optional and may be assigned in the form of:
  • Watching a short animated film and answering a few questions
  • Viewing lesson specific tutorials
  • Reading online articles or scanned PDFs
  • Writing/Drawing/Storyboarding assignments
  • Viewing Demo Reels or Artist Portfolios
Attendance:
The lesson content and projects are closely tied together; excessive absences/cancellations will severely and negatively affect the learning process.
Project Protection:
Students must ensure that they have emailed or saved all project files on their laptop/PC and backed up project files on Google Drive.
